Stuff I like: TmarTn's Youtube Channel

[ http://www.youtube.com/user/TmarTn ] is someone I just discovered - I'm quite late to this party (and I haven't been posting during the time I've been working on everything for school. That being said, TmarTn is an excellent tutor when it comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer.

I'll admit that I'm absolutely terribad when it comes to the FPS sorts of games - the advice I got from friends is to watch pro gameplay (a la Major League Gaming's MW3 Gamebattles); I don't get much out of search and destroy, though.

I'm looking for ways to up my game. Do y'all have any tricks to share?

I play the viola, but I thought I'd note his excellent form, technique, and how true he remains to the song (even if he does have instrumental backup).

Stuff I like: DRT's Rising Sun and DJ Okawari

Having discovered DJ Okawari from a post by a friend of mine, I was immediately smitten with the style.

A quick search on youtube yielded this freely available playlist, composed of mellow piano music and laid-back hip-hop beats. Turn on RainyMood in the background, and you've got a recipe for deliciously relaxing background music.

It's not quite the same as, say, Ride of the Valkyries, which is also fantastic music that makes everything you do seem incredibly important.

Learn to speak Serbian!

While perhaps not as practical as it sounds, it's "humorous".

Unusually personal post.

Hey, folks. I realize this isn't exactly the quality post that y'all expect, and I don't really wanna turn this into a personal blog- I've got another outlet for that, anyway. I've been getting treatment for clinical depression recently, after expressing suicidal intent.

I had something of an episode recently, but I've got an appointment with my psychiatrist within the next few days and another appointment with my therapist in a week or so.

If you suffer from depression, my heart goes out to you. Shit's heavy, and most folks who claim it isn't real haven't had anything like it,  I think. A friend of mine conversed with me and made me feel better, but it's not like I instantly felt better.

Another friend of mine recommended this song, and it's one of those vaguely uplifting songs.

On the subject of Jonsi, here's a playlist of uplifting music that I'm listening to at the moment.
